Koi Garden in Suntec City Mall, Singapore |
We arrived Suntec City mall too early so most of the store inside were closed, but the entrance is already open for office workers having their offices in that building, that's why we were able to get inside. Our purpose in going to Suntec City is not to shop for electronic gadgets which is Suntec City mall is known for having the latest and selling the cheapest electronic gadget in Singapore. The reason we were in that mall was to catch the first voyage of the Duck tour at 10:00 a.m.
We were an hour and half early so while waiting for the time we proceeded down to the basement of the building which the guard told us to stay while waiting for the Duct tour ticket booth to open. There are benches available just at the entrance of the parking area and the Koi Garden is located.
It was nice looking at those Koi fish, it was a refreshing feeling seeing them calmly swimming which made the whole atmosphere so serene and it was a perfect way to start a day’s activity. In Feng Shui, ponds with Koi fish believes to attract happiness, stability, wealth and other positive vibes that it can attract from its surroundings. We stayed there for about 30 minutes walking in and around the pond.
After the rejuvenating feeling we headed to the adjacent attraction of Suntec City which is the giant fountain in the world, Fountain of Wealth. It was accorded by Guiness Book of World Records as the biggest with its size of 13.8 meters high and 1,683 square meters. There has been no water yet coming out the silicon bronze ring giant fountain, which is so amazing to look at, from down the basement, we tried walking on the path and we’ve seen coins inside the mini fountain in the center of the fountain ring, the crew told us that those coins came from people throwing those for good luck. After that we ascended the stairs going to the ground level and we were fascinated even more because on top, you can see that the fountain is situated in the middle of towering buildings and busy street around. There were park benches lying around fronting the fountain, we seldom see any bystanders since it was a work week then. After a short while, we already see water coming out of the ring, little by little until we could no longer see the other side of the handrail surrounding the giant fountain. The rushing of the water coming out from it, has a resemblance to the sound of a water coming from a waterfall.
We were already here the night before and it was so amazingly beautiful, with different lights coming from different directions that reflects different kinds of colors and shapes.
Because we got so amazed on what we were seeing, we lost track of our time and we were not able to catch the first trip of the duck tour so we took the 11:00 A.M trip instead. Anyway, we did not regret getting the first route because we enjoyed exploring Suntec City’s Koi Garden and Fountain of Wealth.
