The colossal house of the former President of the Philippines, Ferdinand Marcos in Ilocos Norte

This has been the second home of the First family of the Philippines during the reign of former Ferdinand Marcos, who was known as an Ilocano, born and raised in Ilocos Norte and reigned as president for twenty years from 1965 until such time that his government has toppled down in 1986 by the new administrator former President Corazon C. Aquino.  When the new government took place, some of the wealth of the Marcoses has been sequestered, which was deemed as an ill gotten wealth and was turned over to the government for administration, and one of which is this grandiose palace as called in Ilocano as "Malacanang ti Amianan", in English it means "Malacanang of the North".

This palace is now being administered and maintained by the Department of Tourism which has been converted into a museum for public viewing.  Tourists are welcome to visit from Tuesday to Sunday, opens at 9:00 to 11:30 in the morning and 1:00 to 4:30 in the afternoon, with an entrance fee of Php30.00 for adults and Php20.00 for children.  If you plan to visit the palace be sure to be there within the vicinity at least not later than 4:00 pm because the parking area and the main gate is a little bit far from the main door of the house where you will have to walk a slope down the path to reach it and there you will pay an entrance fee.

The house is a two storey building which portrays an old Filipino luxury house from every angle and every corner of the house, it is furnished and decorated with expensive paintings and furniture.

Let me take you inside this grandiose house and see for yourself.
