Restaurant hopping in Tagaytay our last day itinerary

Time to leave Canyon Woods

Our check-out time at Canyon Woods should be 12:00 noon but they allowed us to extend until 1:00 p.m. so we maximized our stay in our room, just in time we finished packing our things the bell boy arrived on time and carried our things on the trolley and brought it out and helped us to put it on our car.   We left the hotel happy and at the same time satisfied with the friendly approach and good service of the crews from the receptionist, maintenance and bellboy.  They deserve a commendation for their good customer service.

Last day in Tagaytay

Since it was still early we stopped over Tagaytay again, anyway there’s no easier way going back to Manila than the road that would lead to Tagaytay City, and it was just 15 to 20 minutes drive from Canyon Woods and as planned we went first to Royale Tagaytay Country Club where we can use our privileges on free entrance and access to its facilities as my husband and I have Sta. Lucia RCBC Bankard credit card, but we left immediately because the kids has no interest in bowling and billiards, what they want is to swim in their pool.

Sonya's Garden

We headed next to Sonya’s Garden which is located in Barangay Buck Estate, Alfonso, Cavite.  From the high way it is a 1.5 kilometers distance travel going there, and the only public vehicle I saw entering the slim road is tricycle.  Sonya’s Garden is a nature resort with Bed & Breakfast lodging, restaurant which serves fresh salad, which is literally fresh because the vegetables are hand-picked from their garden. They also have spa service, souvenir shop and bakery near the parking area.  We actually went there to try their bread which according to review were among the best breads in Tagaytay, but when we saw the nice garden around we explored first on the areas that visitors are allowed, secluded areas are the cottages for booked guests and the cottage areas for their spa services.

Here are the areas we enjoyed looking at:

We were about to proceed to their bakery when the rain fell heavily which made us find a temporary place to shield which fortunately led us to their restaurant.  Oh boy! I was astonished with the interior when we got inside and it was as if we were in a garden wedding reception with those white curtains hanging on the ceiling, walls, windows which match also the color of the linens.  While were inside, we settled ourselves on the table at mid section of the restaurant where were a little apart from the other diners to avoid them from being disturbed by my kids, because you know kids are, they rants and whines when aggravated by one another or when they are not preoccupied since we don’t know until what time are we going to wait for the rain to stop.  So while were inside we quenched our thirst and ordered their famous Dalandan juice.

Their Dalandan juice has fresh mint leaf which makes the taste different from what I have tasted so far, which was so far the best taste I had with its blend of sweet, sour and tangy flavour.  And I was surprised that my sweet tooth kids liked it too.

When the rain stopped we proceeded immediately to where we should be going – to hoard breads, No ..  Just kidding! ... as our main purpose was to buy breads.  They have all sorts of local breads which I could name a few, like Pandesal, Spanish bread, Pan de coco, Hopia.  We bought Spanish bread, Hopia and my favourite Pan de coco.  Each costs Php12.00 per piece which is pricey if you will compare it to regular bakery store which is priced ranging from Php 2.00 to Php 5.00 per piece.  But I guess the price is reasonable because the taste is far different from other bread I have tasted, from the taste of it, they used premium and different ingredients like the Spanish bread, I did not tasted butter or margarine but instead it has a flavour of milk and cheese and also with their Pan de Coco and Hopia.  Among the three breads we bought I must say the Spanish bread has captured my ‘discriminating palate’...LOL!  And also surprisingly it weighs twice heavier than common breads at any bakery or bakeshop.

Mushroom Burger restaurant

Our next stop was at Mushroom Burger which is the famous burger restaurant in Tagaytay since then and now, and although they have branched out in Manila which I have tried in Katipunan branch, I was still eager to go back and taste their mushroom burger again and again where I first tasted it, and since then it has always been our stop over for snack.  It was still located in the same spot along the hi-way in Tagaytay City at Km. 60 Bgy. Kaybagal. I have not noticed any building improvements except the paintings and I am not so sure about the interior and arrangement of the dining area if there was, but their food menu has diversified which is already comparable to big local and international fast food chain restaurants.  They also offer pan cakes, ice creams, spaghetti, and rice meals.  Of course I ordered their traditional Mushroom burger and I must say that it still tastes good than ever before, and I prefer their burger in Tagaytay than in their Katipunan branch because when I tried it there it was a bit sweet in taste.

Bulalo Point

Because we have not gotten over yet with satisfaction of Bulalo, we decided to take a U-turn to go to Bulalo Point to buy and take it home for dinner.  We just parked outside and my husband was the one who ordered at the counter which costs Php 300.00 plus Php 40.00 for the microwavable disposable plastic container, and then after 15 minutes the crew delivered our Bulalo in the car.  We arrived home after three hours it was still hot and we savored the taste of it over dinner and our cravings for Bulalo has been contented at last!
