France or Austria? Which Hosts Europe’s Leading Ski Resorts?

If you are thinking of taking a ski holiday for the very first time, you need to make sure you pick a country that has the very best on offer. You need to choose a place that can cater for the level of experience you have and can offer you other types of leisure activities to make your holiday complete. So, do you choose France or Austria for your European vacation? Let’s have a quick look at both countries and see what they have to offer.

In France you’ll get to choose from a number of well known ski resorts such as Chamonix, Courcheval or Val D’Isere all of which are slightly different in what they have to offer. Whilst Val D’Isere is known for its high difficulty slopes, it is a wonderful place to spend a holiday with its choice of high class restaurants and wide range of shops. It can offer a great choice of accommodation with luxury chalets available to sleep 10 people or more comfortably. Chamonix meanwhile is one of the oldest ski resorts in France offering the famous cable car up the mountains where you can cross the whole of the Mont Blanc massif.

So, what has Austria got to offer? You can visit the ski resorts of Lech or St Anton and have an amazing time. Lech, being situated in the snowiest region of the Alps gets a huge amount of snow each year and is able to offer heli-skiing as an additional activity. You’ll be able to stay in one of the VIP chalets on offer in a traditional alpine village and experience some high class pampering. St Anton meanwhile is located between Austria and Switzerland and is known as a bit of a party town so would be suited to those who like a more adventurous social life whilst on holiday.
