I was conceiving for 5 months when I travelled Davao in January of 2011, and my condition did not hinder my eagerness to travel and explore new places, as it was our first time to visit the capital of Durian in the Philippines.  It was a planned trip with my family and my condition during that time was in good shape, my baby inside might be excited too!

Because I don’t want to take the risk of endangering my health as well as my baby, I consulted with my obstetrician a week prior our scheduled trip if I can still travel via airplane, and she gave me a positive reply, in most cases according to her, it is during the second trimester of pregnancy that travelling is already safe for a pregnant woman.

Tagging along with me is my preschooler daughter on a separate flight apart from my husband and eldest daughter’s flight earlier that day.  I have with me my doctor’s permission to travel in case the airline company will request it, but they did not get it, instead, they gave me a waiver form to fill-up which I did without any argument.

After the exhilarating trip by plane for one hour and twenty five minutes, with a distance of 961 kms and 1852 altitude from Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila we arrived in Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao Oriental at exactly 9:10 p.m.  Outside the airport there were different kinds of transportation available that are lined up properly so it wasn’t difficult for me to get one, since it’s already late we go directly to taxi’s station where some military guard assists the flow of traffic and passengers so it’s even easier for a pregnant like me with a child to gather our baggage.  Not only that, I’m also confident that I’m in a safe city because I heard and read news, that Davao City has one of the lowest crime-rate amongst the city in the Philippines.

It took us 15 minutes via taxi ride to go to our hotel at Tower Inn, on Elpidio Quirino Avenue, where we all four rested and called it a night for the following day will be the start of our fun together.

Our 3 days stay in Davao is filled with the following itinerary:
