The Mall Road

Christ Church

Shimla State Museum

This museum was opened in 1974 and acts as a storehouse of various relics related to archeology, art and cultural anthropology. At present, this museum has a collection of over 9000 objects which highlight the cultural wealth of the state of Himachal Pradesh. The museum has special galleries that display artwork pertaining to different patterns and periods.



Viceregal Lodge

     Also known as the “Rashtrapati Niwas”, Viceregal Lodge is located atop the Observatory hills. This monument once served as the residence of former British Viceroy, Lord Dufferein (during the time of the British Raj). This monument has a Scottish edifice, which became the place of summer retreat of the President of India. Presently, this place serves as the quarters of the Institute of Advanced Study.
